For its first opening, LEMBI presents LEMBI (An
Ongoing Project) Part I. Michela De Nichilo explores the entanglements of gender, species and power in Western cultural frameworks through sculptural installations and durational performances.

    Through fluid and metamorphic materials, the installation investigates the structural links between women and female animals, exposing the exploitation of female bodies amid the ecological crisis. Suspended, hybrid forms—gestating bodies, fragmented anatomies, and organic, viscous surfaces—evoke placentas, internal organs, and decaying vegetation. Through a movement-driven journey, the durational performances embody acts of untangling from systemic domination activating the sculptures inhabiting LEMBI. 

    The installation and performance will stretch, evolve, and expand over the summer of 2025, starting with the opening on June 5th and ending with a closing event in November 2025.
